The Stockton Opera Guild is pleased to announce an Opera Season Kick-off event to be held Thursday evening, November 28th from 5:30 - 7pm at Brookside Country Club in Stockton. Fine wines and hors d'oeuvres will be served during the reception, and our 2007 Scholarship recipient, soprano Tiara Stovall will provide the entertainment. The Stockton Opera Guild will honor Kathe Underwood at the reception by re-naming their annual scholarship program for her. Kathe Underwood has provided many years of service and financial support of Opera and the Arts in Stockton.

Kathe Underwood Scholarship Competition 2008

The Stockton Opera Guild annual vocal artist competition, named in honor of Kathe Underwood this year, will be held Saturday, April 12, 2008 at St.John’s Episcopal Church, 316 North El Dorado from 11 am to 3 pm. Applicants must be a resident of San Joaquin County and planning a career in vocal music.  Scholarships must be used within one year of being awarded.

SECTION I is for highschool students not younger than 16 years of age.

SECTION II is for college and private study students up to 30 years of age.

The Stockton Opera Guild proudly presents its 33rd Annual Opera Guild Gala Una Sera a La Scala, An Evening at La Scala on Sunday evening, April 6th at beautiful Brookside Country Club in Stockton. The evening will include an exceptional wine tasting from three different vintners and passed hors d' oeuvres, followed by an elegant dinner, silent and grand finale live auction.

Opera Guild Ways and Means Vice -Presidents Betty MacRae and Norma Miller are Chairing the event. Since its founding in 1975, the Stockton Opera Guild has served as one of the major underwriters of the Stockton Opera Association.
