Welcome to the web page for the Stockton Opera Association and the Stockton Opera Guild. Our newest production, Don Giovanni, will greet the new year January 15 and 17, 2010 and marks the 40th year of local opera , beginning with La traviata in April, 1969 directed by Dr. Lucas Underwood. This year we welcome back Peter Jaffe and James Haffner who dazzled us last year with Barber of Seville. Peter will preview Don Giovanni for you on November 8 at the Haggin Museum.

This summer’s collaboration with the Pacific Opera Institute was a first and we hope ongoing effort to encourage young vocalists, a goal of both the Association and the Guild. The production of Elixir of Love by the young cast prior to their appearance at the Bear Valley Music Festival was delightful. It was followed by a sumptuous reception sponsored by both the Association and the Guild.
Don Giovanni tickets will be available in October at the Pacific Box Office 209.946.2474 online at www.go.pacific.edu/tickets and at Legacy Antiques and Interiors at 128 Lincoln Center 209.474.7944. Ticket prices will be $25 and $35, with a student price of $10. Opening night is Friday, January 15 at 7:30 PM and January 17 at 2:00 PM. Remember, these are reserved seats, so you must pick out where you wish to be seated.
Let’s make this a great year for opera in Stockton: help us to fill ALL the seats to hear this wonderful production. The voices, music and staging will be spectacular!
